Challenge
A-Stat had years of equity in a WordPress install — product catalogue, location pages, and legacy URLs — but needed a modern site that loads fast, ranks locally, and survives migration without losing Google visibility. Separately, SEO retainers need transparency: clients want to see what's done, what's next, and what's coming — without access to internal tools or messy spreadsheets.
Approach
- 01Audited the live WordPress install, exports, redirects, and Search Console data before writing a line of code.
- 02Rebuilt the public site in Next.js with geo-targeted pages, FAQ schema, internal linking, and a redirect map from legacy URLs.
- 03Designed a phased SEO playbook (stabilise → content → GBP → citations) with dated tasks, deadlines, and urgency coding.
- 04Shipped SEO Hub on a dedicated subdomain — admin workspace for delivery, read-only client views, email invitations, and per-client permissions.
Public website — astat.co.uk
Full migration from WordPress to a production Next.js stack on VPS with nginx, SSL, and systemd.
- 38-product catalogue with clean URLs and structured data
- Location and sector pages (Wolverhampton, education, managed print)
- 301 redirect map from legacy WordPress paths
- Phase 2 on-page SEO: geo titles, expanded content, FAQ schema, homepage internal links
- GA4 baseline and Search Console monitoring from launch week
SEO Hub — seo.omwc.co.uk
OMWC-branded operations panel for running SEO retainers — not a generic project tool.
- Colour-coded task list: do now, flexible window, overdue, locked until start date
- Calendar view with start dates and deadlines separate from the todo list
- Telegram-style blur on future tasks until unlock date
- Admin account for full playbook editing; client accounts with invite links
- Granular permissions — control exactly what each client can see
- Resend email invitations; Turso database; hosted on Vercel
Outcome
- Live site serving production traffic with staging parity and documented backup/restore.
- SEO work organised in a repeatable playbook instead of ad-hoc notes.
- Client-ready progress portal — same infrastructure reusable for every OMWC SEO retainer.
- Demonstrates the full OMWC stack: ship the site, systematise the SEO, give clients visibility.
